As a Ladies Section we have been established for almost 35 years and today we have 8 members with handicap indexes ranging from single figures to 31. Although only few in number we play weekly throughout the year.

Our competitions are played on a Saturday morning starting at 10.00am (see Fixture List), using as many tees as there are ladies wanting to play. This varies on average between 4 and 6 depending on the time of year.

The friendly atmosphere of the Club is reflected in the relaxed way in which the Ladies’ Committee run the Section. Although there are obviously certain rules that have to be followed, we acknowledge that these should be kept to a minimum. In this we have the co-operation of our members in recognising that the rules we do have, should be applied. For example, the method we have adopted of booking tee times. Our Competition Secretary contacts all members by e-mail, informing them of the competition format on the Saturday and whether it is handicap order or it is a drawn competition. Ladies then reply if they wish to play and the Competition Secretary books the appropriate number of tees. Once booked, all ladies are expected to turn up to play.

The membership year starts on 1 April and the subscription charge varies depending on your age and whether you are also a member of another Club. A reduced fee maybe applicable by agreement of the Executive Committee, if you join part way through the year (see Membership Fees). In addition, a green fee needs to be paid each time you play.

We are privileged to have one of the finest municipal courses in the country. We have a tremendous amount to offer in our challenging and beautiful course to both seasoned golfers and ladies new to the game wishing to develop their skills. I am sure you would find a great deal of enjoyment could be gained by becoming a member of our Club.
